Description
This is a terrace of eight houses built in 1856, located on Woodsley Terrace in Leeds. The houses are made of red brick in Flemish bond with stone details and have slate roofs. They are three stories high and feature a total of 24 first-floor windows, with three windows for each property. The outer three windows are set in gabled bays that project slightly from the main facade.
Each house has a four-panel door with an overlight, framed by a heavy stone surround that includes pilasters, console brackets, a deep dentilled cornice, and a blocking course. To the right of the doors, there are two tall four-pane sash windows with eared architraves. The first-floor windows have 20th-century frames replacing the former sashes and are topped with slightly segmental rubbed brick arches, with a stone panel below and a continuous band running along the first floor. The second-floor windows have stone sills on brackets and are similar in style, with narrow round-arched windows in the gables. The eaves are deep, and paired purlin ends are exposed in both the eaves and gables. Each property features a tall multiflue stack positioned forward of the ridge. The interior has not been inspected.
