Description

This is a terrace of five houses located on Bath Street in Weymouth. Dating to the late 18th or early 19th century, the buildings are constructed of Flemish bond brickwork, although number 26 has a rendered exterior. They have slate roofs. Each house is three storeys high and has a single window on each level. The windows are predominantly glazing-bar sash windows, with 9-pane windows to the second floor, an 8:12:8-pane oriel bow window with a dentil cornice to the first floor, and 12-pane windows at ground floor level, although replacements are present in numbers 25 and 26. To the left of each front door is a stone elliptical arch, divided into three pieces and set flush, sheltering a 20th-century door with a small, plain fanlight. The terrace features a small stone plinth, plain bands at ground and first floor levels, a small moulded stone cornice, a blocking course, and a coped parapet. The interiors have not been inspected. Number 26 has replacement windows and a rendered exterior, but retains its original external form as part of this significant terrace.
