Description

47 and 49 Park Street are a pair of early 19th-century buildings that were formerly a public house. Number 47 is a smaller, single-bay building. It has a flat-roofed dormer concealed behind the parapet, and an 8:12:8-pane bow oriel window above a late 19th-century shop front. There is a recessed glazed door to the left of the shop front.

Number 49 is a two-storey and attic building that extends to Bath Street and features a corner entrance. It corresponds with the splayed entrance to the Duke of Albany Public House opposite. The building has two bold, flat-roofed canted oriels. The left oriel is above a plain sash window, and the right is over a wide three-light window with two shallow transom lights and a moulded cornice; this window is repeated on the return to Bath Street. A panelled door leads to an arched opening on the far left, but the main entrance is on the splay, featuring a pair of curved panelled doors set between slender Doric columns, topped by a moulded quadrant cornice. The building has a small plinth, moulded cornice, blocking course, and a coped parapet that returns to a plain gable with a small window. No chimney stacks are visible. The interior has not been inspected.
