Description
This is a terrace of four houses located at 13-19 Chorley Old Road, built around 1830. The buildings are made of red brick in Flemish bond and have a slate roof. They are two storeys high and feature an eight-window range. Each house has a round-headed doorway with a wooden architrave that includes engaged reeded columns. The doors are eight-panelled, and Nos. 13 and 15 have ornamental wrought-iron tracery in their fanlights. No. 13 retains its original 16-pane sash windows, while the other houses have had their windows renewed in the original openings, featuring a continuous stone sill band on the first floor and flat arched gauged brick heads. Bay windows have been added to the ground floor of Nos. 17 and 19, with the bay window at No. 17 divided by columns and having transoms that create small upper lights, which are leaded and contain stained glass. There are junction-wall chimneys on both the front and rear slopes of the roof. The interior has not been inspected.
