Description
The gate piers to Mere Hall, built in 1890, are made of stone with polished granite dressings and painted bronze tablets. These piers feature chamfered stone with recessed traceried panels and chamfered pyramidal caps. Inscriptions on the piers commemorate the establishment of the museum in Mere Hall, while low relief tablets display the symbol of the municipality of Bolton.
