Description
22 and 22A Chorley New Road is a house built around 1830. It is constructed of red brick with an ashlar plinth and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high with a basement and features a three-window range with a central entrance accessed by steps. The exterior includes an ashlar plinth, a first-floor sill band, a plain frieze, and a moulded gutter cornice. The entrance consists of an eight-panelled door with a wrought-iron traceried overlight, framed by an architrave with half columns that have fluted capitals. On either side of the doorway are 15-pane sash windows, while the upper windows are 12-pane sashes, all topped with flat arched gauged brick heads. There is a moulded wood eaves cornice and a stack on the right-hand gable. The interior has not been inspected.
