Description

Green Top Farmhouse and Green Top Cottage is a farmhouse dating from 1671. The southeast elevation is rendered, while the northwest is constructed of coursed rubble with quoins. It features a pitched stone slate roof and chamfered copings on the northeast gable, supported by moulded footstones. An ashlar gable stack is located on the southwest side. The building has two storeys.

On the southeast elevation, the ground floor includes a doorway with chamfered reveals and a deep lintel inscribed with "IMM 1611" in a squared motif typical of the area and date. There is one 8-light stone mullioned window, which is double chamfered and has a central King mullion, and one 5-light stone mullioned window, also double chamfered. Above the ground floor windows is a continuous drip moulding, featuring the motifs "IMM" at one end and "1671" at the other.

On the first floor, there is one 4-light stone mullioned window and one 3-light stone mullioned window, both double chamfered, along with one modern single light. The northwest elevation has a single-storey lean-to extension with a catslide roof, featuring one 3-light and one 2-light stone mullioned window, both chamfered and recessed, as well as two single lights. The southwest gable includes one 3-light and one 2-light stone mullioned window, similar to those on the northwest, along with one later single light. The gable stack on this side is partially external and features raking offsets.
