Description
Nos 1 and 2 Gate House are a pair of cottages built in the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a pitched stone slate roof. The cottages are two storeys high.
On the east elevation, the ground floor has two entrances with deep lintels, stone surrounds with ties, and deep reveals. There are also two 5-light stone mullioned windows with recessed lower lintels. The first floor contains two recessed 3-light stone mullioned windows, one for each dwelling.
The west elevation is obscured by a 20th-century two-storey stone extension. The south gable includes a single-storey lean-to extension.
