Description
No. 26 Market Place, which also includes Nos. 1, 3, and 5 Market Street, is a shop built in the early 19th century and is characterized by its Classical style. The building is constructed from coursed stone and stands three storeys high. It features one bay facing Market Place and an eight-bay side on Market Street. The outer giant pilasters support a frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The original sash windows have horizontal glazing bars, cut voussoirs, and projecting sills. The ground floor has been altered with modern shop fronts.
