Description
Nos. 14 and 16 Market Place are shops that were likely once a house, dating from the late 18th century, though they may have earlier origins. The building is constructed of stucco with incised lines and features a stone slate roof. It stands three storeys tall and has modern shop fronts on the ground floor. The façade consists of four bays, with the two left bays slightly projecting and topped with pediments. There is a frieze and modillion cornice on the right side, matching the treatment of the pediment. The windows are replaced sash windows with slightly cambered heads and raised sills. It is likely that there were originally two additional bays to the left, which would have created a symmetrical appearance.
