Description
Number 57 and the barn are a late 18th century to early 19th century building that has been altered. The house and barn are part of one range, constructed with hammer dressed stone for the house and coursed rubble for the barn. The building features quoins and has a pitched stone slate roof.
The south elevation includes a ground floor with an entrance that has a stone surround, one 2-light stone mullioned window (with the mullion removed), and one 4-light stone mullioned window. On the first floor, there is a 10-light stone mullioned window (with two lights blocked, resulting in two 4-light windows). The east gable has a ground floor single storey extension (which is later) and a first floor with one 2-light stone mullioned window. The north elevation features a ground floor lean-to extension with a catslide roof and one 6-light stone mullioned window. The barn has a large central doorway with a stone lintel.
