Description
Nos 1 and 3 on Waller Clough Road are late 18th century to early 19th century weavers' houses that have undergone later rebuildings. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature quoins on the north side, topped with a pitched tiled roof. The building has two storeys.
On the east elevation, the ground floor originally had a six-light stone mullioned window with double lintels, although some alternate mullions have been removed. There is also a four-light stone mullioned window with a double lintel, which has had alternate mullions removed as well. The first floor features a former ten-light stone mullioned window, with alternate mullions removed, and a six-light stone mullioned window, also with alternate mullions removed.
The west elevation includes a later lean-to extension with a catslide roof, while the north elevation has a later extension.
