Description
Nos 72 and 74 Slades Road are a pair of terraced weavers' houses built in 1842, as indicated by the deeds. The houses are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature rusticated quoins on the east side. They have a pitched stone slate roof with a coped gable at the south end and stone brackets. The buildings are two storeys high.
On the east elevation, the ground floor has two entrances with stone surrounds, one of which is in a porch, and two four-light stone mullioned windows with pronounced sills. The first floor features two seven-light stone mullioned windows with a continuous pronounced sill. The west elevation has two three-light stone mullioned windows and two later single-light windows on the ground floor, while the first floor also has two seven-light stone mullioned windows.
