Description
Ashton Binn and Barn is a late 18th-century building that combines a house and barn in a single range. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features quoins, topped with a pitched stone slate roof. The building has two storeys.
On the south elevation, there is a central doorway with a stone surround and tie stones at ground level, flanked by two 3-light stone mullioned windows. The first floor has two 5-light stone mullioned windows. The north elevation has modern window openings, while the east gable includes a modern single-storey lean-to extension.
The barn's south elevation features a large central doorway with a lintel and stone surround, along with a small doorway that has a deep lintel, stone surround, and tie stones, which is partially blocked. Additionally, there are two round pitch holes with stone surrounds located at a high level.
