Description
Number 5 and Barn is a late 18th-century house and barn that forms part of a farm terrace. The building is constructed from thinly coursed hammer-dressed stone, with quoins on the barn and a pitched stone slate roof. It stands two storeys tall.
On the south elevation of the farmhouse, the ground floor features a recessed 4-light stone mullioned window, although two of the mullions have been removed. The first floor has one 3-light and one 4-light stone mullioned window, both also recessed. The north elevation is set back to earth.
The barn's south elevation includes a large central doorway with a segmental arched head and large quoins, along with a small vent above. There are single lights on either side of the doorway, with one being of later date. Additionally, there is a small doorway with stone surrounds and tie-stones, which has a small light above and one to the side. The west gable features a blocked single light in the apex, with water tabling above.
