Description
Number 7, Shaw Fields, is a late 18th century to early 19th century house that underwent mid 19th century alterations and an addition to the west. It is built from hammer dressed stone and features a pitched stone slate roof with stone brackets and a coped gable on the west side. The house is two storeys high.
On the south elevation, the ground floor includes one 4-light and one 2-light stone mullioned window, along with a single light and entrance with stone surrounds at the west end, which date from the mid 19th century. The first floor has a 6-light stone mullioned window and a 2-light stone mullioned window at the west end, the latter having a pronounced sill and also dating from the mid 19th century.
The north elevation has a ground floor that is back to earth, while the first floor features a 3-light stone mullioned window that is now blocked. The west gable includes two single lights. This house is part of a group of buildings in the area.
