Number 18 And Dwelling Over

Number 18 is a late 18th-century cottage that has early to mid 19th-century alterations. It is an end-of-terrace building constructed from hammer-dressed stone, featuring quoins at the ground and first floors. The roof is pitched and covered with stone slate, and there are copings on the gable with moulded footstones. Each gable has a stack. The building has three storeys, with the ground floor at the back being partially below ground level.

On the west elevation, the ground floor has one two-light and one three-light stone mullioned window, both recessed. The first floor originally had a six-light stone mullioned window, but two of the lights have been blocked, and two mullions have been removed. The second floor features one six-light stone mullioned window, of which two lights retain early glazing.

The north gable has one two-light stone mullioned window. On the east elevation, there is an entrance with a stone surround and a more recent window on the first floor, while the second floor has one six-light stone mullioned window.
