Description
Nos 2 and 4 High House Lane is an early to mid 19th century weavers cottage constructed from hammer dressed stone, featuring a pitched stone slate roof. The south gable has a coped design with moulded footstones and a gable stack. The building is three storeys tall.
On the east elevation, the ground floor includes a central doorway with a stone surround, a three-light stone mullioned window, and a four-light stone mullioned window, although one mullion has been removed. The first floor has a three-light stone mullioned window and a five-light stone mullioned window. The second floor features an eleven-light stone mullioned window, with one light blocked.
The south gable has a modern stone extension on the ground floor, a single light window with a stone surround on the first floor, and a two-light stone mullioned window on the second floor. The west elevation has been rebuilt with a parapet and includes a modern single storey extension on the ground floor.
