Description
38 Causeway Side is a house with origins dating from the late 18th century, which underwent alterations and had a second storey added in the early or mid 19th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features quoins at the ground and first floors, topped with a pitched stone roof. The building has three storeys.
On the south elevation, the ground floor includes one two-light stone mullioned window with a large lintel that was originally a doorway, alongside one large window with a stone surround. The first floor has one two-light stone mullioned window and one three-light stone mullioned window. The second floor features a prominent seven-light stone mullioned window.
The west elevation shows a blocked door with a large lintel stone surround and tie-stones on the ground floor, while the second floor has one two-light stone mullioned window. The east elevation has one two-light stone mullioned window on both the first and second floors. This house is part of a group of buildings.
