Description

Pig Tail Bridge, part of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, was built between 1794 and 1798, likely designed by engineer Benjamin Outram. The bridge is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a segmental arch. There is a setted towpath underneath the bridge, along with a string course at the base of the parapet. Additionally, there is buttressing at each end of the bridge and mounting blocks located alongside the adjacent lock 33.
