Description

This is a late 18th-century pair of houses, originally part of a terrace in Gate Head, Marsden. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble, with rendered surrounds to the openings and mullions. They have pitched stone slate roofs and a central chimney stack. The south east elevation has two doorways with stone surrounds and deep lintels at ground floor level. Above are four 3-light stone mullioned windows, recessed with King mullions (one window has had three of its mullions removed). The ground floor has two 5-light stone mullioned windows, also recessed with King mullions. The north west elevation features a lean-to extension with a catslide roof to number 19, and a large modern extension to number 21.
