Description
Far Owlers is an early to mid 18th century house and barn, with later and recent alterations. The building is constructed of hammer-dressed stone, with some parts rendered, and features quoins. The house has a pitched slate roof, while the barn has a pitched stone slate roof. It is two storeys tall.
On the south elevation of the house, there are mid to late 19th century window openings. The north elevation includes a single-storey extension with a pitched stone slate roof, rubble walls, a doorway, and a single light window. There is also a 4-light stone mullioned window that is double chamfered, although two of its mullions have been removed. On the first floor, there is a 3-light stone mullioned window that is chamfered, with its mullions also removed.
The east gable features a ground floor 2-light stone mullioned window that is double chamfered, and on the first floor, there are two 2-light stone mullioned windows that are chamfered, along with one single light window that is chamfered.
In the barn, the south elevation has a doorway with quoins, and another doorway that is partially blocked. There is a lean-to extension with a catslide roof. The north elevation has a central doorway with quoins, another blocked doorway, and two later single light windows.
