Description

This is an early to mid-19th century pair of houses on High Street, Scapegoat Hill. They are built of hammer-dressed stone, with the gables rendered, and have a pitched stone slate roof covered with bitumen. Stone brackets are set on a string course, visibly paired on the north-west elevation. The buildings are two storeys, with the ground floor level with the surrounding earth.

The south-east elevation features two central doorways, each with stone surrounds. Each dwelling has a single 3-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor. The first floor has one 10-light stone mullioned window; two lights have been blocked, creating a 5-light and a 3-light window with a continuous pronounced sill.

The north-west elevation has the ground floor level with the earth. The first floor has a blocked entrance with stone surrounds and tie-stones, and one 9-light stone mullioned window, where two lights have been blocked.
