Description

The standing stone at the junction of School Lane and Round Ings Road dates back to 1756. The east face of the stone is inscribed with the names "Mr John Haigh: a[nd] Abraham Hall: Sir[veyors] 1756." The west face features directional inscriptions indicating distances to nearby locations: "Rippond[en] 3 Mile[s], Hallifax 4 Mile[s], Slaighwai[te] 2 Mil[es]."
