Description
This 18th-century milestone is located at the junction with Lane Ends Lane, made of stone and now positioned against a wall. The east side of the stone is inscribed with "To Settle 12M" accompanied by a pointing hand, while the west side bears the inscription "To [H]aw[orth]..". Although the stone has suffered significant wear, it serves as a marker for one of the historic routes from Long Preston and Settle to Halifax, as noted by J J Brigg in "The King's Highway in Craven," published in 1927.
