Description
Old Carr Head Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid 19th century. It is constructed of rendered stone and features a stone slate roof with three chimneys. The building is two storeys high and has four bays, presenting a symmetrical facade in a vernacular style, complete with gabled cross wings. The farmhouse has rusticated quoins and a string course that runs along the recessed central bays, with hoodmoulds above each window in the wings. There are two doorways with Tudor heads located next to the wings. The windows are double chamfered, consisting of 4, 3, 3, and 4 lights on each floor. The gables are topped with spike finials and display armorial plaques. The interior has not been inspected. This farmhouse is a replacement or has undergone drastic rebuilding from the earlier Carr Head Hall.
