Description

This barn, located 15 meters south of number 17 on Lane Head Road in Ripponden, is likely from the mid 18th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The building has quoins and the north side includes a central cart entry with a basket arch, which has moulded imposts, along with unmoulded mistal doorways at either end, each with a heavy lintel. The rear of the barn has a blocked cart entry and one similar mistal doorway. The western gable end features a 2-light recessed and flat-faced mullioned window.
