Description
Wood End House is a house from the early 19th century, constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and a double pile layout. The front features three bays of two-light sash windows, which have been altered to upper casements. These windows are framed by plain stone surrounds with slightly projecting sills and flat-faced mullions on each floor. On either side of the central bay, there are doorways with monolithic jambs. The house has gutter brackets and quoins. At the rear, there are two chamfered mullioned windows with three lights on the first floor, dating from the early 18th century. The house has two stacks at the ridge and one additional stack. It is likely that the house incorporates part of an 18th-century structure at the rear, which was refronted in the early 19th century.
