Description
Bluebell Lodge is a mill building that has been converted into a house, along with another house, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is likely comprised of two separate constructions. The building is made of coursed squared stone and has a stone slate roof.
No 79 is 2 and a half storeys tall, plus a basement, with three bays, while No 75 is three storeys high with one bay. The south front of No 79 features raised quoins and bands on each floor. The openings have raised plain stone surrounds. The basement has blocked three-light flat-faced mullion windows on either side of a central 20th-century glazed door with an overlight. Above the door is a window with a swept shouldered architrave. The second-floor windows are shorter, with the central one being blind. Throughout the building, there are 20th-century casements, shaped gutter brackets, shaped kneelers, and coping. There are stacks on the left end and the ridge.
No 75, which is set back on the left, has quoins at the base. Its openings have plain stone surrounds, with windows featuring flat-faced mullions. There are steps leading to the door on the left and a four-light window to the right, along with a two-light window on the first and second floors. This section also has 20th-century glazing and plain gutter brackets, with an end stack on the left.
At the rear of No 79, there are raised quoins and bands. The ground floor has a transomed three-light window and a two-light window, with a shorter window inserted. The first floor has a similar arrangement, with the cill of the right window raised, and a taking-in door on the right. No 75 has a 20th-century door to the left on the ground floor, with a four-panel door on the right at ground level and a two-light window above. The right return of No 79 has three bays, styled like the front, with a central door (now a window) and a window above, along with a keyed Venetian window in the gable.
