Description
The former Methodist Chapel, built in the mid to late 19th century, is constructed from coursed squared stone and features a Welsh slate roof. It is a two-storey building with a layout of three by four bays. The gable front includes a chamfered plinth and angle pilasters. The central bay, which slightly projects, has a portal with a double board door beneath a boarded fanlight, all set within an archivolted surround. This is flanked by corniced pilasters with anthemia above. The windows are round-arched sashes with margin-lights, adorned with painted archivolts, imposts, relieving arches, and projecting cills. There are cill and impost bands at the first floor, along with a machicolated band over the central first-floor window and machicolated eaves. The cornice is modillioned at the angles where the pilasters rise into panelled, corniced dies capped with pyramids. The cornice also breaks forward at the centre, serving as the base for a corniced belfry. The left and right returns feature a plinth and round-arched sashes with glazing bars and rusticated voussoirs. The bay on the north side is set back. Inside, there is a horseshoe gallery, but the auditorium has been ceiled.
