Description
Minstrel Cottage and The George are two houses that were likely originally one, dating from the mid-18th century, with a conversion in the early to mid-19th century into four cottages. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone and has a stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high and features four first-floor windows. The corners of the building have quoins, and the openings have plain stone surrounds. The windows are two-light flat-faced mullion windows. From left to right, the arrangement includes a window, a door, another window, a door, a window, a probable former door, a window (with the mullion removed), and a door. The building has plain gutter brackets and three stacks located at the left ends of the three left-hand cells. At the rear, there are four two-light windows on each floor, although the ground-floor mullions have been removed, and there is an inserted first-floor doorway to No 40.
