Description

The barn at Aufhole is an early 19th-century structure built from hammer-dressed stone and topped with a stone slate roof. It features a segmental arched cart entry flanked by mistal doorways on either side, both of which are blocked and have monolithic jambs. Above the cart entry, there is a 4-light flat-faced mullioned window, and four lunettes are positioned below the eaves, which are supported by stone gutter brackets. The return walls of the barn include a 3-light window and three lunettes at the apex of the gable. This barn is a prominent feature in the landscape.
