Description
Upper Laithe Barn is a barn that likely dates from the early 19th century and has been altered over time. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a central cart entry that is segmental-arched and includes a keystone but lacks a surround. To the right of the cart entry, there is an entrance, and to the left, a round-arched window with a key and impost blocks, although this window opening has been altered later. At a higher level, there are two semicircular lights and a triangular vent positioned above the door. The rear entrance, located opposite the cart entry, is partially blocked and features a Venetian window above it. There are also two square pitching holes at a high level and later windows on the ground floor. The right gable has vents, and there is a quatrefoil in the apex of the gable. This barn is included in the listing for its group value.
