Description

Spring Row is a row of seven cottages, now combined into a single dwelling, dating from the early to mid-19th century, with the cottage on the left being slightly later. The cottages are constructed of deeply-coursed gritstone and have stone slate roofs. Each cottage has two storeys. Originally, each had a doorway with a single light window above, and a three-light flat-faced mullioned window to each floor on the left-hand side. Raised sills are present. A straight joint marks the division between the first and second cottages. A garage door has been inserted into the first cottage in place of its original three-light window. The fifth and seventh cottages have windows that have been bricked up. The mullions have been removed from the sixth cottage. Stone brackets support the gutter. Gable copings are present on the springers. Four stone stacks remain.
