Description

This is a mid-18th century house located on Barrit Hill in Ripponden. It is built of hammer-dressed stone with dressed quoins, and has a stone slate roof. The house is two storeys and two bays wide. The windows are 2-light units, with one sash window and one fixed light, set within double-framed stone surrounds and square reveals to both floors. A doorway with monolithic jambs is positioned centrally. Gutter brackets are present. The left-hand return wall has a coped gable with a base for a finial. The rear elevation features single sash windows of similar design. A large central stack rises from the ridge of the roof. A 19th-century cottage of unremarkable design is attached to the right-hand return wall.
