Description
Kirk Cliff is a mid-17th century house, currently derelict, built from hammer-dressed stone with dressed quoins and a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and features a three-room through-passage hall and cross-wing plan, although the service end has been demolished. The gabled wing retains hoodmoulds with spiral stops above largely altered windows. The main body of the house is rendered and has altered windows, along with an inserted doorway to the left of the original through passage, which is now mostly destroyed. However, the front doorway, which is chamfered with a basket-arched lintel, and the lower jambs of the rear doorway still survive. There is one lateral stack on the wing.
