Description

This is a milestone from the late 18th century, located opposite the Golden Lion Inn on Elland Road in Ripponden. The milestone is a monolith with two dressed faces. The left face displays the inscription: "TO / HALIFAX / 5 / MILES / TO / ... / 10/ MILES." The right face has an incomplete inscription: "TO / ... / ... / ... / TO / ... / MILES."
