Description

Ripponden Old Bridge is a bridge from the mid-18th century, serving as a replacement for an earlier stone bridge built in 1533. The structure was almost entirely rebuilt in 1973 and is made of hammer dressed stone. It features a wide single segmental arch with an oversailing low parapet, which is topped by 19th-century cast iron railings. The bridge is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
