Description
Over the Bridge Restaurant is a building that was originally three cottages, converted into a restaurant in the mid-18th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with ashlar quoins and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and is divided into three bays. The central bay has three doorways, with the middle one sharing the monolithic jambs of the doorways on either side. Above this, there is a 2-light flat-faced mullioned window. Each of the outer bays has 4-light flat-faced mullioned windows on both floors. The left return wall, which is attached to Elland Road Bridge, has a gable stack. The rear of the building features a 4-light window on either side of paired 2-light windows. The right return wall has a mid-20th century inserted first-floor doorway with an external stone stair. This gable is located very close to Ripponden Old Bridge.
