Description
The Butchers Arms is a row of cottages from the late 18th century that has been converted into a public house and restaurant. The building is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high and consists of five bays, each with three-light flat-faced mullioned windows. There are doorways with monolithic jambs located between bays one and two, three and four, and four and five. On the left side of the building, there is an external stone staircase that leads to a first-floor doorway, which also has monolithic jambs, with a two-light window to its left. A three-light window is present in the attic. It is likely that the first-floor room was originally used as a textile manufacturing shop, with living accommodation below. The building has five stacks along the ridge.
