Description
Milestone located opposite number 70 on Halifax Road in Queensbury. It is likely from the early to mid 19th century and features recent inscriptions. The milestone is made of stone and is set diagonally with a moulded top, built into a wall. The inscriptions on the front faces are in sunken panels and read: "TO HALIFAX 2¾ MILES" and "TO BRADFORD 5 MILES." The original inscriptions may have been defaced during the Second World War.
