Description
58 and 60 Halifax Road are a pair of semi-detached houses, dated 1779. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone with raised ashlar quoins and feature a stone slate roof. The houses are two storeys high with a symmetrical two-bay facade. Each side has a round-arched entrance on the left and right, along with two Venetian windows on each floor, all adorned with keystones and impost blocks. There is a sill band on each floor, and a central tablet on the first floor reads "C J S 1779." The building has moulded stone brackets supporting the gutter, gable copings, and a central stone stack. It has a two-span roof and was formerly used as a courthouse.
