Description
This is a house, originally built in the 17th century, and subsequently altered in the late 18th or early 19th century, and more recently. It has been divided into separate dwellings, numbers 47, 49, and 51. The house is constructed of coursed rubble, with number 47 having a rendered finish. It has a stone slate roof. The building follows a three-room plan, with a projecting gabled wing on the left. Quoins are present. A quoined and chamfered doorway is situated between the two bays on the right side of the house. A doorway has been inserted into the right bay to serve number 47, and a further window, of 2 and 4 lights, has been incorporated, with all but one mullion removed. A 3-light double-chamfered window, similarly lacking mullions, is positioned on the first floor. A doorway has been inserted into the right return of the crosswing to provide access to number 51. The gable of the crosswing incorporates a former dovecote in the apex and features a 4-light double-chamfered window on each floor, all but the mullions having been removed. Chamfered gable copings sit on cut kneelers to the crosswing. There are three ridge stacks. The rear of the wing is punctuated by a 3-light window on each floor. A later addition is visible to the rear of number 47. The interior has been largely modernised, with some exposed, encased beams.
