Description
No. 14 on Smithwell Lane is a single-cell cottage built around 1830, serving as a link between two earlier rows of cottages, Nos. 2 to 12 and 16 to 22. The cottage is constructed from finely dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high, with a central doorway flanked by large windows that have projecting sills. These windows were originally sashed. Above the doorway, there is a 5-light flat-faced mullioned window on the first floor. The right gable is coped, and there is a stack on the left side at the junction with Nos. 14 and 16. At the rear, there is a single sash window located to the left of the doorway.
