Description
Nos. 215 and 217 on Burnley Road are a pair of cottages built in the late 18th century. They are constructed from watershot coursed sandstone and feature a stone slate roof with a chimney at each end. Each cottage has one bay and is two storeys high. The door for No. 217 is located on the left in the side wall of a low lean-to porch with a slab roof, while No. 215 has a modern glazed porch. Each cottage has one window on each floor; the ground floor window of No. 217 has been altered, while the others feature stepped triple-lights. The first-floor window of No. 217 is much wider than the others. Originally, both cottages were one room deep but have since been extended to the rear. The row continues with Nos. 219-223 to the left and Nos. 211 and 213 to the right.
