Description

The pair of cottages at 211 and 213 Burnley Road, now combined into a single dwelling, were built in the later 18th century. They are constructed of watershot coursed sandstone, with a stone slate roof and two chimneys, one on the ridge and one at the right gable end. Each cottage originally consisted of one bay, and a vertical joint marks their junction. A single-storey gabled porch is located to the right of the joint. The ground floor features large, flat-headed, three-light flush-mullion windows flanked by a smaller two-light window to the left end. Four casement windows are present in the original vertical alignment on the first floor. Cottages 215 and 217 continue to the left.
