Description

This milestone, dating from the later 19th century, is a round-headed sandstone slab that is set into the wall of a bus shelter. It features lettering around the top that reads "BOROUGH OF BACUP" and across the face, it indicates the distances to Burnley (6 ½ miles), Rochdale (8 miles), and Bacup (1 mile).
