Description

This is a boundary stone located opposite number 278 on Bacup Road in Todmorden, dating from the later 19th century. It features a round-headed slab facing the road, which is painted white. The stone has a vertical line scored in the center, with incised lettering that reads "BOROUGH OF" on the left and "BOROUGH OF TODMORDEN BACUP" on the right. There is also a bench mark above the word "Bacup." This stone was likely erected at the time of Bacup's incorporation in 1883.
