Description

No. 170 Todmorden Road is a cottage dating from the later 18th century. It is constructed of watershot coursed sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof with a chimney located at the junction with No. 168 to the left. The building has a double depth and consists of one bay over two storeys. The plain doorway is positioned to the right, while the ground floor has a stepped triple-light window, and above it, there is a stepped 5-light window. The rear wall includes a stepped triple-light window at the ground floor and two small sashed windows above. There is a vertical joint between this cottage and No. 168, and it was likely used for domestic weaving.
