Description
The Toll House is a former toll house located on a turnpike road, dating from the 18th century. It features white painted roughcast, likely over sandstone, and has a tiled roof with a chimney at the left gable. The building is double pile and consists of one bay, standing two storeys high. In the centre, there is a 2-storey canted bay with a roof that extends over it, containing a window on each floor at the front and smaller windows on each side, all with altered glazing. To the right of this bay is a boarded door. At the left end, there is a small lean-to with a boarded door, two first-floor windows in the left return wall, and one ground-floor window in the right return wall, along with a modern 2-storey extension set back. The Toll House is included for its historical interest.
